Go Ape is an experience allowing you to zip line through the forest, climb in the trees and generally act like a monkey for the best part of three hours. It is an absolutely fantastic experience.
The course is split up into five sections where you end each section usually by a zip wire. Each course gets progressively harder.
Not everyone can take part in a Go Ape course. You must be over ten at least 4"7, and a maximum 20 stone. It is also worth mentioning that family and friends can watch you take part as the course is through the forest, over paths, and even over a road at one point!

There is an adventure playground, a new crazy golf area and 20 acres of garden and woodland to admire and explore. Boat hire is available for a trip around the lake and a new pier.
Inside the imposing house there are always exhibitions to enjoy and to inspire. We enjoyed Rugged Reflections, History of the Lakes as well as touch screen computer games. There is a café which serves good food, most of which has been freshly prepared and locally sourced. There is also a wide range of cakes and sandwiches on sale.
Brockhole is a not-for-profit attraction run by the Lake District National Park Authority. All profits go towards its upkeep. There are various events throughout the year so it is best to visithttp://www.brockhole.co.uk/whatsonto see what is on.
The visitor centre is open all year round (except Christmas Day) and opens at 10am till 5pm while the gardens open 8am to 6pm.

Via Ferrata (Italian for 'Iron Way') is a route up or across a mountain or rocky crag equipped with safety cables, iron rungs to climb on, ladders up difficult sections and bridges across gaps.
It is an amazing journey across the imposing Honister Crag using fixed iron footholds and handholds. You will cross zipwires and climb sheer cliff faces safe in the knowledge you are securely joined to the mountain by a strong safety cable! A truly unforgettable experience.

This is a great way to spend a day, especially if you have children to entertain. If you have a day to spare, buy the ticket that includes the boat, steam train and aquarium and you have a great day out.
The boat starts from Ambleside and goes to Lakeside via Windermere. At Lakeside you disembark and get the steam train. You can then either get off the steam train for some lunch or tea in an old style railway café or return straight away to Lakeside.
The aquarium is here and well worth a visit with lots of exotic, and not so exotic fish as well as a glass tunnel to walk through so that the fish are swimming all around and over you!
The scenery is fabulous and all in all, a very good day out.

A stunning and atmospheric old house sympathetically made into a wonderful art gallery. The rooms were so elegant, with sunlight pouring in the wide bay windows. Fascinating gallery's collection of 16th-19th century paintings and artifacts, and the top floor's collection of modern painters' works (including Ben Nicholson and Lucian Freud) complements the older collection perfectly.
Peaceful and inspiring way to spend a morning in Kendal. The neighboring Museum of Lakeland life is also very interesting (maybe better in fact for those with kids).
